Christa
Faut opened her gallery in 1989 in Davidson, North Carolina.
In 1999, the gallery relocated to Cornelius, and it continues
to thrive successfully in the Lake Norman area. For Faut,
art isn't a job, it's a passion. The path that led Faut to
owning a gallery was a circuitous one. Born in Germany, she
was raised and educated in Berlin, where lifelong interests
in both art and design developed. Faut moved to America to
be married in 1962. For a while, she was able to satisfy her
interest by volunteering for the local art museums. In 1979,
Faut and her family moved from upstate New York to Lake Norman,
where she continued to pursue her love of art by holding several
gallery positions in Davidson. During this time Faut became
acquainted with local artists.
Today, the gallery, listed in Who's Who in Art, represents
16
two-dimensional artists, some with national and international
recognition; as well as nationally known metalsmiths, glass
and clay artists.
